We are pleased to provide specialized Day Services that are habilitative in nature here at Hands of Heartland, and to supply programs and activities that are designed with the needs of the people we support in mind. We actively support people who are looking for employment and real-world job experience, and see daily the benefits people gain from interaction and integration into the workforce.
Presented with varying levels of assistance, our Habilitative Day Services focus on essential skills that improve quality of life and promote independence for each person who walks through our doors. We like to think our Day Services are designed to foster a creative sense of purpose in the people who come to us; we want to help them grow in what it is they are aspiring to achieve.
With a low ratio of Hands of Heartland team members to persons supported, we are able to provide as much or as little assistance as each person needs. Utilizing activities like arts and crafts, exercise, and volunteering, we are able to create individualized programs for each person that encourage skill development and community inclusion.
Our organization is a resource to many unique people with unique service needs — which is why we also do our best to nurture the unique interests of the people we support. By allowing each individual to explore activities that appeal to their personal tastes and interests, we have a better chance of engaging them and providing a sense of true accomplishment.
